Ricardo Legorreta dies at 80; noted Mexican Modernist architect
Legorreta died Dec. 30 in Mexico City of liver cancer, according to Adriana Ciklik, a principal in the Mexico City based firm Legorreta and Legorreta.
His firm won the second private competition for Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles, many have criticized it for being detached from the city around it.
His private homes are the most impressive, at least the one I have visited in Brentwood.
Yes, he was the man who said, "Modern architects want too clarity in a building."
