did anyone else know that autodesk acquired alias recently? i had no idea until having to go through autodesk's front page to find something on their website.
anyone think this is a good thing for alias users? (i'm sure it's great for their founders).
Yup, it was announced many months ago, just was finalized.
I am guessing they'll push the two in different directions. Like film and character animation for Maya, and arch viz and games for Max - they both dominate those markets, anyway.

What is alias? Whatever it is I am not surprised Autodesk usually buys out any competitor attachments like softdesk, revit, AEC, etc...
