Seeking info on parking decks integral or interior to outer "mall" constructions

daroc

This is a follow up from my first entry of 11/30/05: Im looking for some real-life examples of parking deck arrangements which are integral/interior to outer mall/plaza constructions, in which the above-ground parking construction is concealed within the outer presentation of the building. I particularly need to find some examples which employ a "village architecture" facade, ie: along the lines of a broad interpretation of "New England traditional" (maybe Romanesque, Greek Revival, Colonial, Federalist, Shingle-Style, etc.) Any ideas?

You should look at the work that George Yu has done. A good of it's been in China. He did a project for the Venice Biennale last year that looked at a large-scale mall project in Langley, British Columbia that would be good for you to look at.

Go to the 'projects' section and look at the 'Belkin,' 'Shop Lift,' and 'Venice Biennale' links. The 'JUSCO' link would be more helpful if it were more detailed. Sadly, the 'Zhengzhou' link doesn't appear to work.

This should really help you out.
