unofficial history among famous architects?

shorTongue

We all know about Wright drawing "Falling Water"
in two hours when mr. kaufmann called...

Does anybody know other interesting stories (behind the
scenes of profession) related to famous architects?

as I understand it, you are supposed to design everything on a napkin. Ya ever try drawing on a napkin? Ridic-lis.

napkins aren't so bad, you just have to have a pen which drains, not a ballpoint.

there was an architect.

he drew the footings/ foundations of a building and went even
further to make models.

a staff of him asked,

"why are you making models for a part that would eventually be buried?"

a architect said,

"well i visited egypt, greece, and italy, and there,
i was fascinated by the ruins of buildings. i am studying how
my buildings would reveal as ruins..."

this statement blew the mind of a staff.

the architect = louis i. kahn.....
