I am putting my portfolio together this semester for application to grad schools. I have taken a lot of art history and theory classes and have done a lot of writing for these classes. Would it be good to show that I have an interest in criticism and theory by including samples of writing? Or do they not care about that? I want to get my MArch first, so I wont be applying for History or theory. Any thoughts?
I would contact the school, tell them your situation, and that you would like to include some written material and ask them how they would prefer you include it. My first thought was, "nobody's going to read anything in a portfolio," so I would see if they would rather you include it there, or if there was another way to include it with your application that might guarantee a more thorough reading.
