Raised Rubber Flooring

evilplatypus

anyone ever specify a raised rubber flooring, the kind with the raised pads like at a subway stop, only to have your clients call you back to show them how dirty it gets? Some of them are supposed to be resilient, but they look dulled and scared - maybe poor maintaince? Anyways, anyone ever have problems with these products? Recomend better mfr's of product?

That type of flooring does collect a lot of dirt if not cared for properly. It needs to be rinsed well when mopped, and the water needs to be sponged up well - otherwise dirty water pools around the raised areas and causes dirt rings. Ask the manufacturer's rep to recommend cleaning products that will avoid dulling buildup. Mostly though this is a maintenance issue, and clients should be made aware of this when they choose this type of flooring.
Darker colors do not become as obviously dull and dirty, even with poor maintenance (though black will quickly get a dusty appearance that's difficult to combat.)
