There's a "crazy" architect that had a proposal to transform the stadium into a much needed hospital. great location, easy access, lower costs than building from scratch. unfortunately the proposal was never taken seriously....
just enjoy the city... drift... st-lawrence blvd, st-denis, st-cath...
in terms of specific architecture projects, have a look at Habitat67 [old port], St-Helene Expo67 site, New Congres Centre quarter, Pointe-à -Callière museum [hanganu], Place Bonaventure [1960's megastructure], Place Ville-Marie [pei cobb hi-rise], Grande bibliotheque du Quebec, metro-subway system, extensive montreal underground city network, olympic stadium...
anyway, enjoy it...

Montreal, Talk To Me
Going to Montreal this weekend, what can you tell me? Anything going on? Is CCA something to see? Come you Northern Friends, speak to me!
go catch an expos game if they re in town.
too funny...what are they using the stadium for now?
CCA is great. They have good exhibitions on at the moment; Montreal Thinks Big, Expo 67...
Make sure you sample the middle eastern food when your in town.
Well, if i was going to Montreal i'd probably want to check out the bibliotheque nationale du Quebec, which opened 3 weeks ago.
try the bagels - i'm not kidding, you really must try them
Gotta get some of that poutine....I'm not kidding, check it out.

as for what to visit: the suggestions already posted are good. you can always visit the architecture school at l'Université de Montréal. the final projects by the march class might still be exposed.
and you can't forget bagels and smoked meat sandwiches.
bumpe!
TRY THIS LINK. It's an award-winning website called "Made in Montreal."

if your still there, the 12th is the Formula 1 Grad Prix of Montreal
St Joseph's Oratory
Want to move there? Me too...
Must be that old world charm.
find a quebec-er to hook up with. they're beautiful in a greasy sort of way.
eat poutine.
drink 'la maudite' [the devil] or ''fin du monde' [end of the world] - the roughest, but best beer you'll ever have. very quebecois.
montreal rocks.
eat poutine and it'll make you greasy...
