Okay, so I'm looking for a decent motel or hotel or hostel to stay at this Friday in LA. Anywhere in it's 70 mile diameter expanse, so long as it's nice. About $50-70/night for a room. Recommendations please!
It occurred to me, also, that I've never seem a magazine similar to Wallpaper in content and reach, and yet aimed in reality. (I know Wallpaper is very much to do with the unattainable, but please bear with me - it is simply illustrative.) Backpacking, dressing, building, whatever, on a budget but in relative 'style'. Anyone know of anything?
is a great hotel - aqua retro with a pool in the courtyard, a punkish diner - Swingers - in the lower level, and relatively cheap. And its an easy walk to the farmer's market for breakfast. Prices I've seen there range from $75-$95.
never stayed at either but take a look at:
orbit hostel on melrose in west hollywood (super cheap--$20-40, and good location)
farmer's daughter hotel on fairfax in west hollywood

i think you can get a room at the standarddowntown for around $100...
