Can anyone suggest a building that has an interactive facade, meaning one that perfoms many different functions, such as dealing with solar, thermal, and water conservation issues?
solar=thermal, no? neither being very interactive. Unless you're Hellen Keller.
As far as water conservation, water tends to fall vertically, mostly onto roofs. There are curtain walls that have water conservation components, but as a gimmick at best.
A window that opens? Wow! that actually looks more like a burglar. I guess I meant interactive in terms of the climate, such as a triple insulated glass wall vs. a double ins. glass wall.
I've heard of this thing called phase-change insulation, which apparently is wonderful, but I don't know anything more about it than the Google could tell you.
A sustainable interactive wall, anyone?

Does this wall actually exist?

Or maybe I misunderstood the question... Having an operable window with operable shutters can be described as "interactive". I guess.
Now 50% more interactive!

what an interactive wall may look like:
That's not very interactive since they are just stick ons.
Oh crap. You are right. They looked real to me on first look.
Here. You pee on a wall and it turns red! Interactive!
But is that sustainable?
Holding it in forever is NOT sustainable.
Hassan Fathy advocated for mud brick as a sustainable amaterial with ideal thermal qualities for the desert.
Throw some of these things in there and you are good to go:

What the Hell??

super cilia skin, especially from minute 1:35, the vision of how it might be used on a facade
