Strange, I had no problem finding out different styles while in university. There were entire sections of this building with rows of bound paper stacks apparently dedicated to nothing else but history. My arch history profs also did not appear to have problems making clear distinctions between stylistic periods.
Architectural styles
Hi,
I'm struggeling to find a basic explanation ( guide) of the different architectural styles :
As an exemple, diffrence between: neo classical, eclectism, NapoléonIII, ect...
any help is welcome.
May I ask if you're in school and if this is part of an assignment?

That is why I'm asking . . ..
Hi, it is not for an assignment.
Is it possible to guide me to a good reference !
Would this be for residential or commercial architecture?
Either way try this book

Thank you ! it is not specific to a building typology, but rather to have a general overview !
I frequently use the Field Guide to North American Houses when looking for vernacular detailing and identification in residential.
