How have you been going about getting new business (domestic and/or international)? What techniques have you found are working best for you/your organization to generate/cultivate new business (clients / leads / opportunities / projects / partnerships)?

I usually create an online persona and bump a year old thread in a professional social network with generic text hoping to come back later & edit that text with links to spam that has nothing to do with the site. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that well per the BGH's site management choices.
