Does anyone model in autocad then render with Rhino VRAY?

nixavides

My firm wants to begin creating renderings for clients.

We typically build models in Autocad 3d. I am personally proficient in Rhino with VRAY. I am wondering if I should suggest to the firm to invest in Rhino & VRAY so that others can model in Autocad and send me files to render OR if I should LEARN TO RENDER in Autocad 3D.

What rendering program meshes best with Autocad models?

Any tips / words of wisdom about going from Autocad to Rhino for modeling / rendering purposes?

Thanks in advance

Can you take Autocad 3d models into Studio Max seamlessly ?

Can't say I've ever had to... but I imagine it's easier given it's all autodesk programs.

Be careful of that Millennium bug though.

AutoCad to Rhino works just fine. And the quality you'll get with Vray for Rhino will be miles better than anything out there for Cad.

When you say this do you mean I can take a 3D cad drawing and bring it into rhino and not lose capabilities?
