How are these "Hatches / Patterns" Created?

Dayve

Hi all, it seems like I am having yet another problem after solving another.

How are these "Hatches / Patterns" created? I tried using Photoshop but I am not able to get the Hatches / Patterns flow so naturally and accurately with the contours.... Hope someone can guide me please...  Thank you!

It looks like material mapping, not sure about it.
But I think it is not drawn in PS, it seems the patterns are "projected" to the upper geometry. U can see the original patterns under it.

I see...!! I can maybe try projecting via sketchup then?

um...I know nothing about Sketchup, but for Rhino, if you google "project curve on surfaces" u could find many tutorails like this one:

The most intuitive way for me is to draw some patterns you need, maybe by using hatch command or do it manually, then draw geometry above the pattern lines and do command project.

They are most likely applied within whatever modeling software is used to create the geometry.
