Question for Australian Architects

Topophil

Hi guys!

I go by the name of Topo Phil, and I'm a rookie Architect working in Melbourne, Australia.

Question: Is it a common practice for Australian Architects to share the 3D models and/or plans of their projects in a digital format (not just a printable PDF) with the Engineer's office (and for that matter, with Builders and Draftsman's companies too) in order to make the building process more fluent and accurate? For me, this information sharing sounds logical and plausible, but at the same time I have the impression that it could be perceived by others as taking advantage of somebody else's work.

Thanks!
