I am a civil engineer with some professional experience in structural design and I'm looking to study an M.Arch since it has always been my dream. I got accepted into U.Oregon, UIC and Syracuse (the last with a 12,000 scholarship) and I'm having trouble deciding.
I'm mostly inclined between U.Oregon and Syr since they offer study abroad programs which highly interest me. I'm interested in sustainable design (what Oregon is most known known) but feel that Syr has a better program all around.
Lastly chicago interests me for the design theory focus (which diverts a little from the engineering technical focus) and because of location, location, location.
Any additional info or help would be greatly appreciated!
how many years is the UIC program for you? they usually make you do 3 which is kinda bogus.
personally id pick Oregon. I dont know anything about Syracuse but I went to UIC for a week in the M.Arch program and it was too theoretical/"abstract liberal" for my taste and could not justify spending the money on such garbage they were dishing out so they can be compared to schools like Harvard, Michigan, or Sci Arc. (which are all trash school IMO, Harvard is harvard and i would recommend any one to go to hardvard for the name if they got in)

All three programs are 3-year since I'm coming from a non-arch B.A. , but that's not an issue.

take the cheapest option.
Syracuse is barely a better program. Not worth 45k plus cost of living
