It hardly exists any more, but Penn Station in NY is a fascinating study. Read "Conquering Gotham" by Jill Jonnes, follow up by studying Grand Central Station. Both incredibly innovative.
There are also somewhere on CSpan archives a couple of lectures by architecture historian Barry Lewis on both stations. He's New York based, can't remember where he teaches, and he is fantastic.

am asking for some good examples to study & if there's any documentation about them (plans, elevation ... etc) because i can't find any. thanks
