WHELP - 23 and considering a masters in Architecture?
I have a Bachelor of fine art (Majored in Drawing and Painting, Minor in Illustration) and have been working in arts admin for the past year since graduation. I am not enjoying the work, the pay is low and have considered going back to school. A friend of mine suggested masters in architecture, I've been doing some research and it's sparking some interest (or maybe just the flashy campus photos of universities)? I am looking at the graduate program at U of T in Toronto as it doesn't require an architecture undergraduate degree.
Has anyone had sort of a similar experience where you did not have an architecture bachelors degree but went into it with a masters degree? or does this sound like a bad idea? will i be burdened with student debt and no job? or will it be difficult for me to get in??
Your exact question has been asked many times, practically on a weekly basis, search the forums and online. Searching/research is a very useful skill you should consider building regardless of whatever profession you continue with or transfer to. This is especially important when making expensive life / career decisions.
In terms of debt, I don't know about Canada but the US is wildly expensive.

Good option since it's m.arch is watered down to suit non arch applicants. Just try and find out more about the profession and the day to day activites of arch interns before jumping into a 3y degree. Do you actually like buildings and construction?
Did you ever work as an artist or illustrator or went directly into an administrative job? If an administrative job isn't for you beware that a large chunk of being an architect can be considered an administrative job.
