Because the post says the poster is interested in studying Islamic architecture. Because of the way you ask, do you suffer from Islamophobia?

Hey asshole, my "why would you? was in reference to the PHD in architecture ambitions... which the OP clearly clarified is primarily for teaching history and not typical practice. No phobia here. As it turns out, I'm one of the few in my undergrad colleagues to take an Islamic arch elective. Although, like all religions, it is utterly ridiculous and fictitious, the art generated from it can be admired without subscribing to its nonsense.

Looks like you've learned nothing from your "elective" by saying, "the art generated from it can be admired without subscribing to its nonsense." What a dumbass!

Actually wan my career as a professor in Architecture history then I decided to study my own region and culture heritage which is rich in Mughul Islamic architecture it will be easy for me because I already have done some work on it. Especially Islamic geometric patterns.

Mathematical formulas are rooted deep within Islamic geometrical (sunshade) shapes. At this point, I'll have to strongly advise parametric tools as one of the ways to achieve these mass homogeneous patterns.

Here's a paper by an academic in Waterloo University that might pique your interest: http://www.cgl.uwaterloo.ca/csk/projects/starpatterns/

Exactly. The Aga Khan is the most sophisticated and prestigious program on the subject.

Also agree. I've heard that the field is tiny and there is very little demand for an expert in Islamic architecture, but there is not much competition for a well qualified scholar when an opportunity is available.
