I am a Master's student in a low-profile school in the US. I already have a graduate degree from another country and find my program very basic. The studios are very general and do not focus on any topic or approach and the experience is not quite educational: a student is expected to use their existing skills to design a building. Period:)
The good thing: everything's flexible. The bad thing: I can hardly teach myself new things without any sort of guidance. So the question is how to craft a studio for myself to actually go beyond my comfort zone, experiment and learn. Does anyone know where to learn good studio methodology? I'm an interested in learning material/technology-based speculative design and also working with social issues on a global scale. I am ready to try new things.
