Michigan Dean?

isms

Has anyone heard who University of Michigan's new dean may be? Seems like they're still searching for someone, but they made it pretty clear at the open house at the interim dean will be stepping down by the fall.

Interested to hear from current and prospective students on what a new dean would mean for the school.

at the open house a professor mentioned they were finalizing a contract with a new dean and if all goes well they will begin in the Fall.

It is technically confidential information, who came to the school to interview. And right now the decision rests with the Provost, who has final say, and then the Board of Regents for approval.

Interim Dean Robert Fishman is definitely stepping down, and he's done a wonderful job filling a position that was asked of him. He'll be taking a year long sabbatical starting in the Fall.

I don't expect the day to day of the school to change. That would only happen if we were talking about getting a new Chair of architecture. The dean mostly deals with the school on a macro level.
