I am trying to decide whether to get my new laptop with Windows 7 or Windows 10. I want it to last 4 years. I was wondering which one you all use. Thanks!!
I hesitated to upgrade from 7 to 10 for a very long time, thinking it likely would be much more trouble than it's worth. When I finally got around to it, I wondered why I had been so hesitant. So far 10 is working fine and MS will support it much longer than 7.
Windows 10 is great!! Drawback is that you can't run some legacy programs on it like you could with W7 in XP mode. One such legacy program is the ARE vignette software.
As for legacy software, I haven't found there to be any issues ... I've got some image processing software on my computer that last was updated in 1998 -- it works perfectly fine on Windows 10.
No issues with Rhino 5 or Adobe Suite? I have 1 more month left to decide on upgrading for free or not. My computer is from 2008 but has pretty good processing and graphics power.

Went to 10 when I got a new computer at the office. Took a couple days to get used to, and surprisingly Cortana is relatively ok.
Alright, 10 it is! Thanks everyone

On a related note, does anyone know if the potential issues with Autocad not working on Windows 10 have been resolved?
I even installed Autocad 2004 on my 10 and it works flawlessly. So, no, I didn't run into any issues with any versions!

Now that you mention, I haven't been able to use Adobe PDF printer since upgrading. Super cheapskate boss..... we use cs2
Win 7 is the best
I guess the better question is has anyone had any problems running software on W10?
