First of all, if the level of education and the courses is advanced ( because it is easy to be accepted, they dont even ask for a portfolio). Also,  if your chances to get a better job outside of Denmark after this Master are higher or the same. And finally, any information (if there is) about the courses in some more detail than its already written in their webpage.

The level pretty much depends on how much you put into it. The Aalborg school differs from alot of other schools by focusing on a big group project each semester, before that there are smaller intensive exams usually of a more technical character since it is a polytechnical education.

The group work can be a very positive experience preparing one for future work situations. However several people do the master assignment alone. Each group or individual is assigned a supervisor who drops by each week to critique the design or the paper/report. Furthermore there is also an engineer assigned to each group for the more technical aspects.

As mentioned the dfficulty and your development really depends on yourselves and the people you work with. It is not difficult to pass the exams but most people strive for more. The lectures are of varying quality, some good some quite boring depending on your interests. During the master there are some recurring topics such as sustainability and tectonics, that has to be adressed in the paper. The big focus is on integrated design. You can take a look at the online project library of the school, there you can find master thesis papers of varying quality and focuses.

It differs from Aarhus and Copenhagen by being a part of the polytechnical university and not the art academy of Denmark so you do not become architect maa but cand. polyt. arch. It is more technical oriented than Aarhus and Copenhagen. You can work abroad after completion, however! The school is not part of RIBA (the Aarhus school is the onlyone in Scandinavia acknowledged by RIBA?). I have known people working in UK starting out as architectural assistant taking their RIBA part 2 exams and so forth while working for a firm. Many people from there work around in europe, however if the goal is to get a great job in an English or American office as a certified architect, I would personally choose somewhere else.

Hi, does anyone have any opinions on what it's like to study at Aalborg?

The town sounds very small - is it really boring?

Do bands play there? are there galleries and museums?

Any help much appreciated :)
