Georgia Tech has started an online two year Masters in Computer Science degree aimed at students who are already working in the field and who can not take years off work to attend campus classes. The total costs of the ABET accredited degree is............$7,000. That is not per semester or per year, but the total cost for the entire two-year program.
This is quality accredited graduate education offered at a very low cost, primarily to people already working in the computer field. I think it might have implications for other engineering fields as well as the architectural field. Why do you have to assume I am marketing Georgia Tech?
do you have architecture programs of the same cost there? I honestly don't understand, you say education is a right for all, and then you charge young students with high tuition fees leaving them in dept for decades in their life!! this seem like a way to control people, the same way churches did 2000 years ago!
Zaina, churches/religious authorities still control people today, not much has changed in that domain.
Us tuition is ridiculous and no one can justify value out of $50k per year M.Arch degrees. $7k for an online 2-year degree is somewhat acceptable, but still on the high end. Depends what it is and offers. Americans have a problem with socialist policies so subsidizing education is a big no-no for many.
I used to say that that I should've studied engineering especially that I was really good in engineering classes, but eventually what I really aspire to in my life is to influence people ... I might start writing one day, but until then I'm an architect :p
Without that fucking degree I'd be making way less than what I do now - cleared 6 figures easy this year. I was able to pay off my whole student debt load (more than the number being floated here) within 6 years of graduating (Getting licensed and doing shitty side work, Balkins-style. One shit deck at time.).

it is just a way of keeping prestigious positions in the hands of rich people.. maintaining the capitalist system there...
money rules!
I don't know, I can easily justify 50k for an arch grad degree, especially if you have a liberal arts background.
We should do something useful like be engineers and doctors, right?

Zaina, Professional Building Designer, Assoc. AIA.
!
STFU KPFboi, go back to snorting Paul's ashes.
null, how would you justify an annual 50k for an arch grad degree?
Richard, .. what?! I'm just a student Lol...
Zaina, Null was being sarcastic.
Actually I wasn't.
