btw, if you're interested, the french pronunciation of the letter y is similar to the spanish -- where it is written 'e griega' I believe -- which means, simply enough "greek e."
A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They sit down and engage in an animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following:
"Emma come first. Den I come. Den two asses come together. I come
once-a-more. Two asses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come one lasta time."
"You foul-mouthed sex obsessed swine," retorted the lady indignantly.
"In this country....we don't speak aloud in public places about our sex
lives.........
"Hey, coola down lady," said the man. "Who talkin' abouta sexa? I'm a
justa tellin' my frienda how to spella 'Mississippi'."
turbowombat ... yet the letter "y" looks like a lower-case gamma. yet the upper-case upsilon looks like an upper case "Y". I think that "i griega" actually means "greek 'i'".
English Alphabet Problems
Can you tell me which comes first, X or W? There is no reference alphabat in this office to speak of. Keyboard is no use either.
And what do you think of Collective Soul music?
What office do you work in? It sounds like mine....
I know this one! Not without thinking a bit though first :)
W is first. W, X, Y, and Z.
I'm French.
hu, hu not on this forum, I'M French...
so in france is it X,W,Y,Z?
collective soul never had a really good drummer. love dolly parton's version of shine tho

Mozart was so smart to have written that tune. How did kids learn the alphabet before?
I think one of the letters is "ellamennopee" but I cant remember if it comes before or after "w." It might be in between "and" and "z."
ellamennopee is between K and Q, its a compound letter

its the french alphabet
its what the french pronounce for y
only they know (wh)y!
it is the same place as it is in spanish...you mean the french one is out of order
Is the American alphabet the same then.....
As far as i know the french version of the alphabet is exactly in the same order as the english one.
There doesnt seem to be any good reason for it to be different, I may be wrong, but if i am its because my french teacher at school was wrong.
And if its just one letter swap x and y there doesnt seem to be any point, apart from to be annoyingly french,
I would get a copy of the sesame st dvd and put the subtitles or language to french to check it out.
a b c
its as easy as
1 2 3
The French alphabaet is indeed the EXACT same alphabet as the English one, same order and same letters. Different pronunciation though...
What??? would someone explain the mess you've all been talking about?
This thread has me lmnopeeing my pants. You guys crack me up.

liberty bell
are you hard and cracked like elliot suggests?

smokety is right..... you peoples probably got confused because "i" in french sounds like "e" in english.
in french the same alphabet is used, but there are accents all over the place though! (à,é,è,ê,ë,ù,ö,ç) that all have different sounds!
if anyone is interested in french classes i always need extra money :)
