this was a news item here last year sometime. i totally agree, atia seems like a crackpot inventor who managed to convince a few dreamers at google until they got their heads around the proposal.
my tldr for this: the forgotten associate of a famous architect proposes a system of modular pre-fab building components and suggests creating a software program to implement them in design. He doesn't actually have any idea how to do any of this. But he thinks he's set when a famous tech company shows interest, and then despairs when they cool on his half-baked scheme. So he sells the concept to a famous patent troll, and they do what they do, resulting in a lawsuit. bfd...
