Even though most people who wanted to use a mac would use parallels or bootcamp, the main complain from architects against the mac was no native autocad for the mac. Do you think the creation of mac native software will change the landscape of hardware in the office? Will you be switching over to mac?
Yes! I worked for bunch of offices that had Macs, but were running Windows (bootcamp, not parallels) exclusively, so even Adobe was for Windows platform. I am more than sure these offices will switch in an eye blink!
It will be a savior for me to run everything from Mac. Right now I run AutoCAD and Rhino from MacBook, and Adobe from desktop. It is a pain.
I downloaded Rhino Beta for Mac, but not having AutoCAD and Rhino in one place - is a problem.
I do not run parallels because my MacBook is slow as it is, and Bootcamp is the only solution to "system is running out of memory" and such messages...
AutoDesk has always had that magic touch of making its software crash like it's still 1996. Buggy software always died more elegantly on a mac for some reason. So there's that.
I think having a native support for aCad on a mac is great, although I would not want to be an early guinea pig adopter. At least not a $4k/license beta tester. I pity the office that does.
