I'm an undergrad architecture student and would like to purchase a good reference book on the do's and don'ts of construction drawings which gives a good look into specifications, title blocks, details, e.t.c. - an overview or reference that i can carry into practice.
More then just showing different wall sections and plans, it explains the thinking behind the drawings and uses a number of pretty good case studies to explain the concepts of how architecture is built.
That looks interesting, but that goes on about the art of construction and construction methods...i was more looking on the lines of like construction documentation.
probably not as sexy as the book iheartbooks recommends, but there is some good stuff in Wakita's book.
you can probably find a used version somewhere in a bookstore.
to comment on you previous post, mainly "That looks interesting, but that goes on about the art of construction and construction methods...i was more looking on the lines of like construction documentation." some might argue that the art of construction and construction methods are inextricably tied to drawing.

Good Reference Books on Construction Drawings..,.
Greetings,
I'm an undergrad architecture student and would like to purchase a good reference book on the do's and don'ts of construction drawings which gives a good look into specifications, title blocks, details, e.t.c. - an overview or reference that i can carry into practice.
Any good books would be of great value.
One of my fav's:
Constructing Architecture: Materials, Processes, Structures
http://www.amazon.com/Constructing-Architecture-Materials-Processes-Structures/dp/3764371897
More then just showing different wall sections and plans, it explains the thinking behind the drawings and uses a number of pretty good case studies to explain the concepts of how architecture is built.
its a keeper.

in other words, working drawings.
probably not as sexy as the book iheartbooks recommends, but there is some good stuff in Wakita's book.
