As the Architect of the first of several new Detroit Workplaces for Quicken Loans, vSA was responsible for the design and workplace standards development for the first Quicken Loans outpost in Detroit at Compuware, hosting nearly 1800 employees. Since then, Quicken Loans has redefined the Detroit landscape, driving vacancy rates into the single digits and pushing perceptions about where work happens using the precedents and standards established in this seminal workplace project.
A unique culture, where fun is as important as function, the Quicken workspace not only is densely packed with sit-to-stand space for individuals, but there is ample space for gathering and culture building. Since training is an important aspect of their success, a 300 person training center, outfitted with custom designed desks and state of the art technology was an anchor space to the new headquarters. A Network Operations Center with video wall and glass-enclosed IT distribution rooms were show pieces for the organization, communicating a commitment to transparency and high-tech solutions.
