Mitchell Historic Properties selected Powers Brown Architecture to design a new transit terminal along the historic Strand District in Galveston. The transit center, located at the intersection of Rosenberger St and The Strand, is the home to a Galveston Island visitor center catering, retail space, and a terminal for bus routes covering the island. In addition, the threestory garage provides parking for approximately 160 cars. The contract was subsequently reassigned to the Board of Trustees of the Galveston Wharves (Port of Galveston) and revised to include renovations to the adjacent Shearn Moody garage.
