In creating the first bricks-and-mortar retail store for photographer Anne Geddes, Kanner has designed a unique experience that combines the atmosphere of an art gallery with the consumer-friendly layout of a clothing/toy store.  The effect is to place visitors in a world that feels sophisticated yet comfortable and welcoming.

Warm colors, including the Geddes corporate scheme of cream and orange, and wood finishes set a residential mood.  The comforting aesthetic is carried through in a seating area set up as a family room where parents and children can relax and evaluate merchandise.  Round fixtures-all custom designed-facilitate consumer foot traffic and are child-safe.

Sheer curtains, hung as backdrops for Geddes’s art, appear to glow among the space’s bright lights and backlit advertising display boxes.
