In order to create spatial distinction and material continuity in a relatively small space, Specht Harpman wrapped this pre-war apartment with integrated cabinetry and installed Asian-inspired partial walls with translucent panels to separate space wile allowing in natural light. The cabinetry allows the filmmaker and his wife's extensive book and film collection to be simultaneously concealed and revealed throughout the two-bedroom apartment.
