New York, NY
Lhaus is an 11-story, 175,000 SF condominium building with attached parking garage on a unique full-block site in the Hunter’s Point sub-district. The project combines fresh and exciting architectural forms consisting of facades of profiled metal and spring green fiber cement panels. Sophisticated interior finishes reflect the young and design-savvy target market. Resident amenities at the ground floor include a 1,000 SF multimedia/screening room, a 2,200 SF fitness center, and a 1,750 SF multi-purpose clubroom. The landscaped courtyard offers additional amenities that include both public and semi-private terrace areas opening from the ground floor multi-purpose/club room, an outdoor bar and grille, a spa, and a lawn area as well as a cascading reflecting pool.
Draped in native New York state granite in an ashlar pattern, the lower portion of the building’s facade reflects the energy of New York City’s traditional bridge abutments and overpasses. Panels above animate the building’s exterior, with two-toned profiled aluminum paneling -- a refined interpretation of the corrugated metal architecture seen throughout Long Island City. Lhaus combines design innovation with a modern approach to elegance that functions as art in step with this vibrant neighborhood.
