Creating a balance between high density and green space were the two main mitigating factors in the design of this ten unit condo project. As the site was of compact size maintaining privacy between adjacent properties was of critical concern. With the creation of a custom fabricated and designed wood screen, louvres were orientated to specific angles, controlling both light and views. Large 7’ x 11’ balconies project off the west facade establishing semi-private space and a dialogue between residents and the neighbouring community. While open air east circulation wraps up behind the wood-screen allowing expansive views out into the neighbourhood and bringing movement to the building as drivers flow past it down Talbot.
