This historic residence has evolved through the years; originally built as an American Foursquare, the Sweeney House was renovated in the Queen Anne style during the early 1900s. The residence was converted to an assisted living facility in the 1970s (??), which led to several additions of various styles and construction types. These more recent renovations severely altered the house’s interior spaces, as well as its outward appearance.
As it is once again being used as a single-family residence, we seek to restore several of the Sweeney House’s key architectural elements, circa 1914. Long since covered over, the front of the house once featured a deep porch. Restoring the porch delivers a beautiful outdoor space, while also exposing hidden bay windows and several carefully crafted architectural details.
