Drive Thru + Entrance Canopies

w/ Fred Thurston Architecture

First National Bank is relocating to an existing building located within the Downtown Commercial Historic District. The client wanted to update the downtown facility by adding two entrance canopies and three drive-thru lanes. The bank leaders challenged us to create an exciting and innovative piece of architecture that related to its historic surroundings.

We designed a light drive-thru canopy made out of awning fabric. The arched canopy is supported with visually unobtrusive steel beams and purlins. Utilizing the architectural vocabulary of the existing building, we designed four masonry piers to support the canopy and its structure. The canopy will be illuminated to give it a light glow at night.
