The Dreiss-Ropp Residence is a new single family home built on the modified foundations of a previous structure. The new building is primarily a wood structure comprised of engineered lumber as well as strategically placed steel elements necessary to accomplish a series of dramatic cantilevers. The exterior walls are clad in vertical wood siding canted outwards from the second floor to the roof. The signature staircase, located just inside the entry features a steel plate structural assembly with cantilevered glass guard rails.
