The project started its journey from that aspiration. It is a nine storied single-family home with complimentary units located in Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka.
To appreciate the inner meaning of MORMO, considerations were influenced regarding the title. More levels had been added where there are facilities for their parents, rental units for maintenance expenses would be obtainable. To achieve natural blessings, the residence started its expansion from fourth level. The entrepreneur and corporate duo as the couple wanted to let their children know the significance of life through shaping up memories with nature, light, neighborhood and making good relations as well as reminiscence within this chain. The intention of engraving words as statements is to spread the significance of life, religion, nature, emotion, shelter, existence, sight, participation, research since words are identically impactful in terms of MORMO. Considering all the issues, the project MORMO –highlights the chronicle of life cycle and the attachment between family members that is one of the biggest blessings of the world. It is a project that expresses that existence is more valuable in our reality of daily life. Observing different range of age, gender, interests; it fulfils the demands of space for parents, rentable space, children and family space, car parking area and all the open up facilities.
It comprises a basement, ground floor adds welcome lounge, level one to four with living and dining spaces, level five covers formal activity areas, level six for children and upper floors as family floors including an infinity pool, green breathing areas and a multipurpose hall at level eight.
When an individual searches for something; the devotional spirit looks toward the sky for want of hope and inspiration. There are inspiring words that upraises spiritually, placed in the roof ceiling so that words can be seen throughout three levels at a time. The atrium reflects as a feature, which adds significance of connections through various spaces for the family. There are few special characteristics of the infinity pool on the top considering the reality of beauty regarding vista. As from religious perspective, water is an element of blessing, it plays a vital role for making the space lively and in reality, the air flow it creates, is magnificent.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was to attain day light towards the site. Another one was that, the front of the building is west facing, there is another building on the south blocked south side and same goes for east. Contextually, in terms of our climatic scenario, it is a threatening aspect. Therefore, it was another consideration to decode these factors. For instance, the entry façade is mostly solid and added sophistication to reduce western heat can be managed. Focusing on material; concrete, glass and metal has been chosen, so that aesthetically it would be noteworthy within a monochrome scheme. Green and water has been emphasized for a harmonious formation. It makes an appearance as an address of a couple by creating spaces that are visually blended with nature.
