White Villa, located in the heart of Bến Tre, stands on the foundations of an old house that belonged to a family with a long and distinguished history. This family not only made significant contributions to the local community and history but also passed down a unique cultural legacy through generations. With the owner's dedication, White Villa serves not only as a residence but also as a symbol of heritage, preserved for future generations.
Architectural Design and Connection with the Environment
White Villa, designed in a Neoclassical style combined with French country architecture, evokes memories of the flourishing development of Southern Vietnam during the French colonial period. This influence is clearly reflected in the way French country architecture harmonizes with the landscape and climate of Bến Tre, where the villa is nestled among lush coconut groves.
Not only does White Villa use high-end, valuable materials imported from various parts of the world, but it is also meticulously crafted by the skilled hands of local artisans. Every detail, such as the eagle reliefs and the ornamental gray stone carvings, reflects the outstanding craftsmanship and dedication of those who worked on the project.
Challenges in the Construction Process
Beginning its design in 2021 and completed in 2023, the construction of White Villa faced numerous challenges. The house is located in a geologically low-lying area, making it difficult for heavy machinery to access the site. The architects and engineers at Archiro Vietnam decided to use piled foundations driven 38 meters deep to ensure a solid foundation for the house. Additionally, the project had to overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the global economic crisis, which made importing materials from abroad a complex task. However, through perseverance and the dedication of the team and the homeowner, White Villa was successfully completed.
Functional Spaces and Legacy Value
Every space in White Villa is designed to be open and airy, with at least two windows in each room, directly connecting to the lush garden outside. The interior combines family heirlooms with new architectural elements, emphasizing the continuity of heritage through generations.
A unique highlight of the house is the circular atrium that extends from the ground floor to the first floor, located in the living room. This design not only leaves a strong impression on visitors but also helps with natural ventilation, creating a cool and airy atmosphere throughout the house.
Additionally, greenery is incorporated into various functional spaces, such as the reading room and the bathrooms, enhancing the freshness and connection with nature, making the home comfortable and healthy.
Cultural Heritage and Lasting Value
White Villa is not merely an architectural project but a symbol of continuity and the preservation of family traditions. The homeowner wishes for the villa to become a heritage, not only strengthening its current value but also passing it down through future generations.
The house acts as a serene note, recalling the glorious days of Southern Vietnam. It is a place where tradition, culture, and family love are encapsulated in every architectural detail, creating a living space filled with heritage and emotion.
