Hey! Cafe is now open for business at 3030 General Pershing St. after recently receiving its Substantial Completion Certificate of Occupancy. Before 2020, the corner store was occupied by the Old Tiger Bakery, until Hey! Cafe owners Tommy LeBlanc and Greg Rodrigue purchased the mixed-use former corner store structure.

The relocated Hey! Cafe anchors the ground floor, while three residential units occupy the rest of the building. The interior finishes, lighting, café bar, and MEP system were restored using State Historic Tax Credits. Williams Architects also designed the interior cafe buildout with flood-resistant materials, utilizing a removable base and chair rail trim at the exterior wall.

We are greatly appreciative to have worked with Hey! Cafe in their new location just off of Claiborne. In addition to Tommy and Greg, our project manager, Andrew Stephens, had the pleasure of working with CassesiScully Contractors, WDG Engineers, and Walter Zehner Structural Engineering to undertake the renovation.
