Venice Loft

A young gallerist, fresh to the West coast from New York, looked to Curated. to furnish her 2,000 square foot loft. Located in the iconic Venice Loft Building on Main Street, the concrete floors and quirky window configurations provided an inspired setting. Artful furnishings were carefully selected to support the client's growing personal art collection. The existing raw kitchen was replaced with a simple new design and punctuated with a wall of chalk board paint where the client and her guests adapt the scene on a whim. With a nod to the homeowner's southern roots, the upper and lower terraces were covered with Fescue turf and enclosed with a dense hedge to privatize the playful outdoor living spaces. Vintage pieces add character and feature craftsmanship. Caning details and chain metal were repeated in the selections- both old and new. A movable glass top resting on construction grade sawhorses creates a dining table which is surrounded by a mix of vintage chairs with varying stripes and fabrics. On the mezzanine level, the master bedroom is distinguished from the study by a wall covering installation. The palette of cool blues is contrasted by the warm red-orange tones found in the existing architectural steel throughout the loft.
