The Pine Lake Cabin project was designed to restore the cabin back to its original 1920 layout. Removing years of cobbled together "improvements" and ensuring that the design melds new additions with the original structure. At the same time the natural surroundings were integrated into the remodel, improving daylighting throughout the cabin. Morning light is now reflected from the lake on the ceiling of the screen porch. In addition to the main cabin, the “upstairs” cabin was remodeled to create a small guest cabin, designed a studio and a boathouse for the lake property. The property plan connects the new buildings with a path that provides stunning views and leads to the gazebo in the orchard.
