Sustainability has become a common goal of contemporary design and engineering in the 21st century. At AL+W, we consider environmental sustainability an integral part of the design process.

Personal service is essential, evidenced in our firm’s size. At AL+W, skill tells, not numbers. Its founders and principals, successful area architects Rodney Lewis and Camden Whitlock, are highly involved in each team project. They listen, inform, and guide you through the entire process, from programming spatial needs to final completion. AL+W wants collaboration. Through workshops and charettes, through continuous personal attention, our highly skilled group works both with and for you.

AL+W’s creativity and technology produce sustainable building designs that respect the environment—in all its aspects. We explore and accommodate contextual relationships: neighborhood, community, culture, history, scale. Excellent design considers all. It also respects the natural environment, now and for the future. Ecologically sensitive building is a mindset as smart as it is principled. AL+W is a member of the Green Building Council and LEED certified. We know how the new building protocols work and that they work, for our clients as well as the world.

DIVERSITY + CONTINUITY
Founded in 2000, AL+W has a history of success in a panorama of projects. Our diverse architectural portfolio includes new and renovation projects in higher education, health care, banking, commercial offices, retail businesses, residential and multi-family housing, campus development, pre-schools, and faith-based facilities. We take special pride in the satisfying relationships through which one project leads to another—with continuing clients as diverse as Florida State University, Capital Health Plan, the State of Florida, and the St. Joe Company.
