Ben Nicholson teaches architecture at IIT, Chicago. His design work includes Appliance House (MIT 1990) and Loaf House (1997, CD-Rom from renaissancesociety.com). As part of a long-standing interest in American culture, he recently contributed to Bitomsky's documentary film B-52 (2001). His current writing projects include The Hidden Geometric Pavement in Michelangelo's Laurentian Library, a book that muses over the nature of number, geometry and the structure of knowledge (2004). For a group exhibition about WTC 911 traveling to the 2002 Venice Biennale is The World: Who Gets It and Who Wants It?, a satire on Western method.
