Linda Yowell is a practicing architect, preservation advocate and educator. Her award winning work includes townhouses, apartments and lofts in New York, homes in Westchester County, the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires, as well as new building, renovations and master plans for cultural and educational institutions.  Since 2000 she is also a partner in Hudson Studio Architects, which is known for its work for schools and cultural institutions.

Her designs seamlessly combine the best of modern living, light and space flow, with a deep understanding of the language, detail and craft of American architecture. She is dedicated to realizing the owner’s objectives through collaboration.

Ms. Yowell founded the Learning By Design:NY committee of the American Institute of Architects NY Chapter to support the teaching of architecture in K-12 schools.  She believes that architects have an important role to play in making visual literacy and creative thinking an essential part of every student’s education.

A graduate of Vassar College, she received her Masters Degree in Architecture from Columbia University. She served on the Board of the AIA New York Chapter and is a Trustee of the Center for Architecture Foundation, as well as a Vice-President of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation.  In 2001 she was elected to the AIA College of Fellows.
