Helsinki-based PES-Architects is among the largest and most international architecture and interior design firms in Finland. Founded in 1968, the company has worked in China since 2003 and established a subsidiary in Shanghai in 2011.
The practice is know for its complex and wide-ranging building types, including airports and transport terminals, performance venues, sports facilities, arenas and mixed-used developments as well as demanding refurbishment projects.
PES-Architects’ main completed works in China include the Wuxi Grand Theatre (2012), the Icon Yunduan Tower in Chengdu (2017) and the Fuzhou Strait Culture and Art Centre (2018). Main works in Europe include Helsinki Airport terminal expansions (1996-2021), West Terminal 2, Port of Helsinki (2017) and Ring Rail Line underground stations, Vantaa (2008-2016) in Finland, and the Marienkirche Concert Hall, Neubrandenburg (2001, 2017) in Germany.
