Club House - Windows by Lake (Transparence 2012)

The Theme ‐ Windows by the lake

In fast urbanizing society, where social interaction is restricted due to paucity of time or intent non homogeneous and migratory population, the club is the much needed glue to create social integration in common space. In a society that is building vertically, we are increasingly distanced from earth and nature. Hence the design of this club must extend beyond the evident facilities that such spaces house and must promote interaction as well as create ample opportunities to connect with nature.

Design concept

Our project aims at sensitizing the community on living in harmony with nature, creating a synergetic ecosystem for humans and birds.

 Design Intents

The club intends to bridge the gap between man and nature by creating

  • Spaces that yield opportunity to connect with nature and one another
  • Spaces for people to enjoy the warmth of sun, the coolness of wind, the wetness of rain, and   the sound of birds, rain and lake.
  • Spaces that welcome birds to build their nests
  • The presence of water is embraced at all times within the site, rather built against.

|

  • Forest Experience
  • Views create opportunities for vibrant interaction with nature and one another.
  • Various entities are designed for common spill-out spaces.
  • Raised massing from the ground and lofty openings help integrate the inner spaces and the

outside into one continuous experience and invite the presence of birds.

  • Green living Mesh provides thermal protection from hot noon sun, while also lets in ample amount of light through perforations and varied cut-outs.
  • The living mesh enhances the air quality inside, thus increases productivity, comfort and health.
  • Hydroponics for plant growth.
  • Gym ‘workout’ energy stored and used for various purposes.
