EverGreene was Commissioned by the Diocese of Greensburg to develop an artistic concept for renewal of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. We worked closely with the Bishop of Greensberg on schematic design as well as with the architect on design development to create a harmonious interior with architectural ornament more sympathetic to the Cathedral’s historic Architecture.
We were involved in the early preconstruction and planing stages to come up with a complete vision for the interior. We started by looking at historic photos and taking cues from what was there, to include the cathedral's original history.
The designs developed in pre-construction included new decorative painting on the ceiling, stenciling on the beams; new plaster ornament, a new cathedra to be sculpted out of marble, wainscoting cast in plaster and faux finished to look like wood; crucifix, ambo, frames for the stations of the cross; sconces, and alterations to existing liturgical elements including the altar.
During the implementation phase EverGreene painted decorative finishes on site, created new murals, fabricated new plaster ornament, and performed on site installation.
