The nursery has been totally restructured; the work includes the creation of the main entrance on the lower ground floor of the building. This major transformation led us to rethink the general principle of the facade.

Initially, with a view to fitting the building into its surroundings, the facade repeats the high and low lines of the adjacent building. The base, comprising a grid, echoes the base of the adjoining building, giving it a more uniform look. The upper acroterion on the building housing the nursery forms part of the extension of the corniche of the adjoining building so that the building can fit into its environment. The upper part has been remodelled in order to achieve a number of aims, including providing the children with views of the outside at their own height, by means of bays in the lower part of the walls, and providing bays designed for adults.

Our work on diagonal lines constitutes the topographical response expressed by the façade, in resonance with the slope of the street. The general idea is to offer a playful aspect that enhances the general image of the building. Pale pink and orange glass paste adds a gentle touch and continuity to the building. 

Our work was based on a determination to ensure a positive image for the building within its neighbourhood. The facade is only legitimate in its relation to the architecture that is already there (buildings of different periods, with raised sections and multiple modifications).
