About

I run an independent, research, and multidisciplinary design practice, X-Lab (www.xmanifold.com), focusing on critical and speculative projects in the built environment urbanism, and product design. The studio’s most recent work includes traveling exhibition space for energy company ’S-OIL’ (Seoul 2015), chief editorial and publishing duties for the annual journal on advanced tropical architecture, design, and sustainability, ‘Prototropic’ (NYC 2016), and prototype energy generator for the urban waterfront, ‘Eco Pylon’ (Lexus Design Award 2017).

Before X-Lab, I worked with Greg Lynn, Elena Manferdini, Eric Owen Moss, Peter Testa, and Fernando Romero in Los Angeles from (2007-2011) as a junior and intermediate associate, working on design research, competition projects, and design installations. From 2014-2015, I worked with ‘MD Lab’ and ‘Schmidhuber & Partners in Germany on high-concept retail, interior design, and brand environments for Sony, Samsung, and Mercedez. From 2015-2016, I returned to New York and worked with MAD-NYC Architects, JPDA, and DSA on various competitions and built projects in architecture and interior design.

My teaching experience began with a Teaching Assistantship with the Graduate Visual Studies (2007), Undergraduate Thesis Studio (2008), and Lecturer for Undergraduate Thesis-Prep Seminar at SCI-Arc (2009). I have previously taught Foundation Studio II, Visual Studies II, and Advanced Visual Studies as an adjunct professor of Architectural Technology at CUNY (2015-2016). I have taught First-year Design Studio at NJIT from 2016-2017 and Most recently, Advanced Visual Studies for ID class at FIT (2016) and NYSID (2017) Interior Design program and taught Professional Practice and Introduction to Interior Drawings at Parsons School of Constructed Environments (2017).
