The Space would be design to provide a peaceful, sacred, and multifuntional setting where people could rest and relax.

Since I first conceived of the term blurring in architecture and the concept for a book called Blurred Zones some thirteen years ago, the term has become quite popular- so much so that my editors argued for changing the title of this book. Architects such as Toyo Ito and Diller + Scofidio now use the term, but in an entirely different manner than it is used here. For example, Diller + Scofidio use the term quite literally, as in their Blur Building. I continue to use blurring and blurred in the context of the work in this book be¬cause the idea of blurring has not been argued in the conceptual sense that it is presented here.
